Okay. We admit it. We are officially obsessed with coconuts here at Redemption. But you can hardly blame us when they can do so many magical things, including:
Coconut water – benefits include aiding weight loss, curing hangovers and reducing blood pressure.
Coconut milk – lactose free so can be used as a milk substitute by those with lactose intolerance. Multitalented too.
Coconut yoghurt – a healthy alternative that’s made with coconut milk. In addition to being dairy free, coconut yogurt also supplies several key vitamins and minerals and can have live and active cultures just like milk-based yogurts.
Coconut cream – high in calories and saturated fat, so it’s best to eat it in moderation, but it does have some notable benefits.
Coconut flour – This has really grown in popularity recently, and being a lower-carb, high-fiber and gluten-free alternative to wheat flour, it’s easy to understand why.
Coconut sugar – the boiled and dehydrated sap of the coconut palm – low in the glycemic index and full of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
Coconut vinegar – has all the same benefits of apple cider vinegar, but with fewer calories… and a much more tolerable taste and smell
Just actual Coconut…. highly nutritious and rich in fibre, vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous.
Safe to say we won’t be taking this little guy off our stocklist for a long while yet! What a superhero!
